They would be great anywhere!! Even in pots!! This is a great site you can look thru as well for ideas! At this price I don't think anyone should pass them up!!

Hey Daisy,

I need your help :(
I bought some flower bubls form Lowes and now I dunno where to plant them. where do you think Ishould plant them? I got phlox starfire and Gladiolus. Also, I got some vegetable seeds but now I see that walgreens has them on sale this week. Do youthink Ishould return those to lowes and gget the one at walgreens? are they good?

Mine get to be over 5 feet each year. Do you know if you can top them for more blooms?

Nisrine - You can put the bulbs in containers this season since your beds and borders arent ready yet. As for the seeds, if you rather the ones from Walgreens go ahead and get them. Whatever you don't use be sure to store on a cool dry place for use next year. I usually keep mine in a ziploc near my seasonings. Not all seeds will germinate. Did you happen to get any of the peat starters?? They make it really easy to see which seeds are growing and they are super easy to transplant this way later.
My youngest has the croup so we aren't getting out much this week. Maybe I can come by next week and see what we can do.

Candace - Cutting them won't bring more blooms to that stalk but you should be getting more than 1 stalk per bulb. It is important to leave some and the stalk and quite a few leaves after you cut the bloom. THis will allow those leaves to absorb enough nutrients to carry the bulb through the winter. I got the peet thing from Lowes as well as some seeds but I thinkIm goin to return some of them and get them from walgreens instead.
